CRAZY WEATHER, WORK, NEW KITTEN NAMED TIGGER, FLU SHOT

Normally we have rather mild winters here in Colorado. That is not to say we don’t get snow and cold weather, we do. So far this year we have seen very little snow, and what we have gotten has been nothing more than a dusting, maximum 1 inch. So we are desperate for moisture here in the Rockies. Now the mountain seems to have been getting a good amount of snow. But once it hits Pike’s Peak, it’s as if it dumps all the snow on the backside and what the low lands get is minimal.
Today we are supposed to be up 66°. Does that sound like winter weather to you? Tomorrow, we are supposed to be up to 62°. And on Sunday our maximum high is 31° with a chance of snow. Now I don’t normally pray for snow too much, but this year we could really use a good snowstorm. All we can do is wait and see. March and April are coming on fast. That’s when we get most of our snow, so we shall see.
There is not much new here. I’ve just been reviewing my options on which novel to work on next, as soon as I finish with The Hangman. I’m thinking of working on To Catch A Dream. It’s a romantic suspense and I know they are quite popular, even though I do enjoy writing my thriller stories. I have three romantic suspense novels lying on my desk, in various stages of completion. So I had better get off my butt and finish them. While intermittently researching and writing The Snatcher.
Believe it or not I finally got my flu shot yesterday. I had not been able to get it because, from the middle of October till sometime in December, I’ve had one health issue after another. So I had to wait. But it is done and I feel more secure about the flu which is running rampant across this country. I can’t believe how many people have been sick and hospitalized with the flu. Maybe it’s a good thing I have a tendency to be a hermit.

I’ve always told you all about my animals. Around 1 December, anyway that first week, I was checking my mail box and saw this large bird, perhaps an eagle, circling my backyard. My dogs were outside and barking furiously at something. I came in the house and went immediately to the backyard, and there is this little teeny tiny kitten. It was on the other side of my fence at a home that has nothing but dogs. There it was huddled next to a tree, and when it saw me it climbed that tree in an instant and came over that fence into my arms. It was a tiny eight week old ball of fluff, gray with these deep dark black stripes. Needless to say, I now have four cats and two dogs. I named it Tigger, and it is the sweetest kitten. Tigger and JoJo run and play together, and wrestle. They are the best of friends and the kitten follows Jo around the house.
That’s all that’s going on with me here in Colorado, other than working on books and paintings. I’ll be working to complete a painting I’m doing for my nephew and his wife. And in between that, working on the books. My goal for 2018 is to be much more productive. All of you keep writing, editing, editing, editing. You can never edit your books enough.

Give the other books a read, you might like them.

CRAZY WEATHER, WIND, NOW SNOW? READY FOR SPRING

P1010737I believe this year, so far, we have had the craziest weather.  Started off the year fairly well, if I remember correctly.  We had some cold days sure, after all it’s winter.  But this is the first time in all my years living here that we’ve had hurricane force winds.  I mean with roofs torn off some homes, churches and businesses.  Even the court-house downtown got hit.  Tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day, then a cool off with SNOW on Sunday and possibly Monday.

I am what is called a winter person, but even I am ready for spring.  Unfortunately we’ve only been in the winter season for about two and a half weeks.  Spring and summer are months away.  As long as I can see sunshine, I should be okay.  I can’t handle too many gray days.

My roof has been fixed, other than repairing the fence, I didn’t have a lot of damage.  I am lucky and thankful.  When the weather turns sunny and warm, the fence will be repaired.  Until then, the pups have to put up with going out on a leash.  Oh well, just a bump in the road.  Me and the fur babies will survive.

2nd THE HANGMAN BK CVROther than going to get my hair cut around one tomorrow, I will be sitting at this computing working to finish THE HANGMAN.  I WANT THIS BOOK DONE!!  I hope you all will enjoy the story.  I worked hard to keep you guessing and give you a surprise ending.

Everyone have a great week, stay safe, and always remember, NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER.

CONTINUALLY ADDING TO STORY, EDITING, IDEAS FOR NEXT BOOKS, BOOK COVERS, AND CRAZY WEATHER

NEW SNGLE STONE KILLER CVRI sat up late last night working on THE STONE KILLER only to realize, after I had snuggled down in my bed, that I goofed.  So today I have to rewrite part of what I wrote last night.  Oh well, that is the name of the game, make a mistake, fix it.  I am happy to say that the story is winding down to the finale.  There is still a lot more to write, but I’m getting close.  The book, hopefully, will be completed this month.  I am aiming for uploading to Kindle and CreateSpace in July.

But as the old saying goes, “The best laid plans of mice and men somehow go astray”.  Pray that I can keep my schedule and finish the book by then.  Next comes the pain in my neck, editing, editing, editing, and more editing.  Thank God for my sister and partner in this endeavor.  She keeps me on track and has the hardest job to do, finding my mistakes.  And, I’m sure there will be plenty, no matter how hard I try to keep them at a minimal.  She also keeps the storyline on track which is so important.  If it sounds like garbage, we work together to rewrite it.  We are a good team.

The idea for the next Jonas Black and Morgan Jansen novel came glaring at me from the headlines.  So far the title is THE RECKONING and the storyline is wild, but just.  The idea for the third and fourth books in the series also come from the headlines.  Ideas are all around us, all we have to do is reach out and grab them.

Since we have several partially completes novels waiting to be finished, we will be completing those as well and uploading them.  One, a romance set in Florida, has over 60,000 words written.  Another is close to halfway finished.  it is another murder story which we want to complete.  It is also set in Florida and has the paranormal running through it.  So as you can see, we have a lot of work to do and a lot of stories to tell you.

Then come the book covers.  Finding the perfect fit for each story should be fun, ha ha.  We have a lot of ideas for those as well, we just hope they fit the story.

We are having a bit of crazy weather here in Colorado.  Yesterday it was in seventies, this morning some people in the higher elevations woke up to a couple of inches of snow.  I’m just praying for rain to water my flowers and any place  where the threat of a wild-fires exists.  We’ve been on a fire danger alert for some time it’s been so dry.  If we get rain as predicted, hopefully there won’t be any lightning strikes to spark a fire.  We really can’t complain about the weather.  Other parts of the country have had much worse and we keep those people in our prayers.

Well, I have to get back to work on THE STONE KILLER.  To all who read this blog, know you are greatly appreciated.  Everyone take care of yourselves and stay safe. Until we talk again,

Remember, NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER,

EBOOK SALE, MARKETING OF EBOOK, REWRITES ON THE STONE KILLER, CRAZY WEATHER, TITAN AND ME

In preparation of our e-book sale, I have been tweeting and posting on numerous sites and with as many groups that I can, plus trying to do the rewrites on THE STONE KILLER.  For some dumb reason I have had a severe headache each day since Sunday and can’t figure out why.  Probably sinus.  Anyway, the rewrite for the two scenes is almost finished.  And at this late hour 10:14, my headache is down to barely a throb.

Yesterday here in Colorado Springs the porch thermometer read 77 degrees.  Today with the high wind, I doubt if it got out of the 40’s.  It is supposed to be in the teens tonight and change tomorrow.  Crazy weather.

Titan[1]I thought I would let you know, that the little Chihuahua I adopted has settled in nicely.  He thinks the cats are dogs.  Of course even Bandit, my smallest cat, is taller than Titan.  He is the sweetest little dog.  I can’t imagine how anyone could have abused him.  And he was abused.  He cowered away from me when I first got him as if he expect to be hit.  He doesn’t do that anymore.  He will never have to be afraid again.  Whoever hurt him deserved the same treatment.

It dawned on me the other day, that all my animals are rescues.  Stanley was given to me by a pregnant lady who couldn’t keep him.  Pyewacket and Bandit both were strays.  So now my little family is complete with Titan the dog.  My animals are greatly loved and cared for.  I can’t tolerate anyone who hurt a child or an animal.  It’s a good thing I’m not a court judge.

Well, it is late and tomorrow the sun will shine and it will be a glorious day.  Everyone take care of yourselves and stay safe.  Until we talk again, the best to you and yours.
