ROSES, HEAT, HUMIDITY, HELPING SISTER PACK, STUPID COUGH, LITTLE WRITING

Well, I am sad to say that most of my rose bushes I planted near the front of the house have expired. The only one so far, knock on wood, that seems to be flourishing is the red rose bush at the corner of the house. What is really odd is that a rose bush that was planted some time ago has decided to come up, so I am nurturing it. The three climbing roses I planted along the fence seem to be doing better than the others have done. They have the most beautiful red and white blossoms. I keep praying they will make it.

It makes me wonder if they died because we have been notified here that our water has been contaminated with PFCS. So I will be purchasing a water filter system to be utilized for all our drinking water, especially considering how much water sister and I and my animals drink. Our water company does not seem to be overly concerned with the problem. Considering it’s their responsibility to keep the water safe they need to be the ones supplying the water filters for everyone instead of telling the public to buy them. But you all know how the bureaucrats system works, a bunch of numb nuts run it. They’re more concerned with filling their pockets than they are taking care of the people. What they need to remember is karma is a bitch and they have to face their actions eventually. Off my soapbox.

Well let me tell you if June temperatures were examples of what we have to look forward to in the future, global warming is definitely a big issue. We hit near record temperatures last week. One day the temperature hit a 103°. What is surprising is the fact that the humidity has been higher here this year than normal. Anyway it seems so to me. Thank God the next day they install the air conditioning system. It has been heavenly. I thank God every day for my adopted sister. Slowly but surely we are getting her house packed up so she can sell it. We still have the kitchen to do and the attic, which should be fun considering that I think she has a lot of Christmas stuff in the attic.. But then I have a lot of Christmas stuff in boxes in the garage. So I really can’t say anything about.

Around 20 May, I came down with one rotten cold. Would you believe I still have this horrible cough from it. It is not as bad as it has been. But is still aggravating. I have to go back to the doctor on Thursday the 30th. So we’ll see what she has to say.

I haven’t been doing much writing on THE HANGMAN, as we have been focused on getting sister packed up things ready to go back to Ohio.  I will get it finished and uploaded this year.  It has been such a great joy having her here with and when she leaves I am going to miss her terrible, but she knows she always has a place to come to. Her bedroom will always be waiting.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and a great Fourth of July. Treat all of those you love like today is the only day you will have with them. Never hesitate to tell them that you love them. Yes, actions do always speak louder than words. But, sometimes they need to hear the words as well.

GLOOMY WEATHER, ROSES, BACK IMPROVING, REVIEWING THE HANGMAN, THE NEXT IN THE SERIES.

We got up to a shroud over the mountains this morning.  We really can’t complain because we’ve had such beautiful sunny weather for many days and we need the rain.  But I have trouble handling day after day of gloomy weather.  I need to see the sun at least part of the day or even for a few minutes.

Of course the roses love this damp condition and are growing great except for one which is defying all my threats if it doesn’t start growing.  Our humidity is 82%, which is really high for us.  Our usual is around 11 to 20%.  Very dry and I love it.  Right now the sky looks as if it’s going to start crying at any moment.  Maybe it will help my one forsythia bush that the pups keep peeing on.  I hope they haven’t killed it, the poor little bush.

My back is slowly getting better and not giving me the fits it has been.  I actually was able to sleep last night without having to take a heavy-duty pain pill.  Sister and I have relaxed the last couple of days from packing up her house.  We needed a break.  It will get done.  We like to get things done, and even when we’re exhausted we continue to push ourselves when we shouldn’t.  That’s probably how I hurt my back.  I know, I’m crazy and I readily admit it.  You have to be a little nuts to be a writer.

I have been reviewing what I have written on The Hangman to make sure I have covered everything.  So far, so good. Now onward to the finish.

PAIN IN MY . . . . ,ROSES, ROSES, ROSES, RAIN? OR SUNSHINE, HELPING MY SIS

Well after rubbing myself down from my low back, butt, all the way to my ankle with Aspercreme with lidocaine and taking a pain pill I was able to fall asleep last night.  And I actually slept fairly well. Now my niece in Ohio is down with severe sciatic pain. My sympathy is with her as I know how she feels. Other than maybe having a baby, I don’t think there is a worse pain than sciatic.  It never stops hurting for a second and nothing you can do makes you comfortable.

Anyway I am happy to report the roses are growing like little weeds, all except the gold one which has not one little sprout on it. The white roses seem to be in a hurry to grow because they are the largest so far. The lavender roses are doing quite well and the deep red rose-bush has new sprouts. The climbing roses are doing well also. And as stated before the white rosebush climber is growing really nicely.

I have been busy helping my little sis pack up her house so she can move all of the rest of her stuff back to Ohio. It is amazing how much you can accumulate in the way of possessions in a lot of years. I know this from my own experience when I moved from Florida back to Colorado in 2013. I could not believe how much junk I had accumulated. I got rid of over half and still have a lot of boxes of Christmas stuff in the garage.

I haven’t been working that much on The Hangman, but once we finish I will get back to it. Sis read over what I have completed and says it reads really well which makes me happy. And she is also very astute to continuity in the story. Once The Hangman is finished, I am going to finish off a romantic suspense that I started some time ago. And then back to the Jonas Black books. I have several partially completed novels that need to be topped off. I’ll do a Jonas Black book and then one of the romantics suspense novels, then jump back to work on a Jonas Black book.  That should keep me busy.
