SUNSHINE, WARM WEATHER, YEAHHHHH, UPLOADED CORRECT NOVELS

Got up this morning to bright sunshine and warmer temperature.  Thank you Lord for such a beautiful day.  It seems as if we have had weeks of gray, dismal rainy days.  I have trouble with gray days.  All I want to do is hide or sleep until the sun shines again.  But can’t.  Too much to get done.  As a writer, work on my novels is never done.

Well, I don’t like the new format WordPress has for writing a blog.  I used to be able to insert a photograph by each paragraph and now I can’t.  That is so irritating.  Guess I’ll have to call them to find out how to use their new features.  Blast it all.  If it ain’t broke, don’t FIX it!

Anyway, I have uploaded the new versions of the ebook for all my novels except The Hangman.  I want to shout THE HANGMAN IS HERE when I do create the ebook.  I’ve worked hard to make the novel as perfect as possible.  But, we all know, nothing is perfect.  I hope everyone will like the story, but not everyone will.  You can’t please everyone.  That’s life and as it should be.  Now I have to finish TO CATCH A DREAM, and get to work completing THE SNATCHER, the next Jonas Black novel.  It’s there in my brain, all I have to do is get it into the computer.  Wouldn’t be great if we could plug our brains up to our computer and download selected files.  Who knows, someday that might be possible.

The new week is stretching before us.  Everyone have a great time and stay safe.  Always remember:  NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER.

SUNSHINE, WARMER WEATHER, GOING TO LUNCH, THE HANGMAN

images7JPAILFWI was happy to open my eyes this morning and see the sun shining bright outside.  That isn’t to say it’s not still a little chilly at 40 degrees.  But, the clouds are gone.  So far today, I am doing better.  My chest and ribs are still a little sore, but not as bad.  Each day will see an improvement.  Our high today is going to be close to 50, and I need to get out of this house.  It is time for a lunch out.  It will be nice.  I haven’t seen my friend since before Christmas, mainly because she was out-of-town and I was down with the flu.  Then January we had snow(?) and I ended up in the ER.  So today is the day.

doctorI have come to the conclusion that doctors do not pay any attention to what a patient tells them.  Example 1, I hurt my back, my doctor knows I have a high blood pressure problem, so what does she do, orders a muscle relaxer which causes high blood pressure.  I end up in the ER for high blood pressure.  Example 2:  I love OJ.  I have been drinking a lot of orange juice this month.  Which is what I think caused my acid reflux problem and sent me, again, to the ER.  It was my fault, not a doctor’s.  But I’m in the ER telling the doctor how I have big problems taking medication.  He orders me a stomach pill which gave me severe stomach pains.  A side effect of the drug.  I can’t take it.  Oh well, we all know doctors have to play a guessing game when treating a patient.  Dammit!  I’m craving a big glass of OJ and I can’t have it or a lot of other foods.

2nd THE HANGMAN BK CVRI made a list of the scenes I have to complete for THE HANGMAN.  There are five plus the conclusion.  That shouldn’t take too long if I keep my butt in this chair working.  It all depends on how I feel, and if the brain is working.  I’ll keep at it, and as soon as it’s finished, I’ll shouting YEAH, on to the next book.

Everyone have a great rest of the week, and stay safe.  Remember:  NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER.

COOLER TEMPS, SUNSHINE, DIET FOR PYEWACKET, WORKING ON THE HANGMAN

11401377_10153478193699271_7548152210831919453_n[1] images7JPAILFWI am so thankful that the weather has turned cooler for a few days.  I have learned to appreciate gray days and nice cool weather.  I love the bright sunny days, but when the temp is close to ninety, it will cook you in no time. More rain is in the forecast for this coming week  and the temperature for Monday and Tuesday is to be in the sixties.  I believe I am a winter person, because I love the fall and winter cold.  After living in the heat and humidity of Florida for so many years, I do love the drier weather of Colorado.  Also, we don’t have giant roaches flying around at night landing in your hair.

11-F3861162-675487-960I have had to put Pyewacket, my black cat, on a diet.  He has gotten so fat, it is unhealthy.  Needless to say, the other two cats, Stanley and Bandit must share this diet.  I don’t leave dry food down all day, like I used to.  They get their little bit of wet food and about a half a cup of dry in the morning, and a half a cup of dry in the evening.  If they don’t eat it all, it is picked up and put away.  Stanley and Bandit don’t over eat, only my big black cat does.  I love him too much to let his bad eating habit continue.  He was always skinny until I had him neutered.  Then he gained way too much.  My big boy must lose five to ten pounds.  I can hardly lift him, he is so big.

2nd THE HANGMAN BK CVRWell, I am still working on THE HANGMAN.  I am taking is slow and steady, so as not to forget to put in important information.  That’s why we did the rewrite for THE STONE KILLER.  THE HANGMAN will be uploaded this years.  Sometimes, I have a few too many projects going at one time.  I write every day, and edit as I write.  Maybe that is what is slowing me down.  Anyway, I’ll get it completed and will have learned from the experience of writing this book.

Everyone have a great Fourth of July, and stay safe.

SUNSHINE, DIRTY FLOORS, DOGS, ETC

I NEVER SEEM TO KNOW WHAT I AM GOING TO SAY WHEN I SIT DOWN HERE AT THE COMPUTER. I JUST MAKE UP STUFF THEN GO FORTH WITH MY JIBERISH. I just noticed the first paragraph is in all caps. Well you know and I know I should fix it, but I’m not going to. I do not understand this machine. I am typing away and suddenly, the screen goes to the windows page. As that ice skater Nancy What’s her Diddle cried, WHYYYYYYYYYYYY, WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.
I do not think I will ever understand this computer. Why does my cursor jump to the middle of an earlier sentence and put words there?
Well, so much for that crap. The sun is out this morning and the world is beautiful. The temp is 61 here in Northern KY. That makes it even more beautiful. We had rain for three days. Needless to say, the dogs have carried most of the yard into the house, so I must sweep again. Since I have wood floors, I sweep every day, and I get a load of hair and dirt every day.
I know you all have better things to do than sit and read my blogs, like editing.) Y’all take care of yourselves and stay on this side of right. Hug your dogs and kiss your babies. We’ll talk later.

THE STONE KILLER, CORRECT GENRE, MURDER AND MAYHEM, TITAN HAS A HOME, SUNSHINE, WINDY

Titan[1]First let me tell you of the newest addition to my household.  His name is Titan, because he has that small dog attitude.  He is a deep, dark chocolate-brown and is the sweetest puppy.  I am so glad I rescued him.  Of course the cats are having an adjustment.  Pyewacket seem to so, “Oh, a dog.  Okay.”  Stanley is not so sure, as he was great friends with my toy poodle that died in 2012.  Bandit!  She appears to wonder why in the hell did Mom bring that thing home.  Slowly but steadily she is getting closer and closer to him.  He is a great little dog.  He is a Chihuahua, but larger than most Chihuahuas I’ve seen.  Anyway, he is mine now.

Next, I have to say that when I started to write THE STONE KILLER, I originally planned on it being a romantic suspense.  When the ghost of the first victim appeared, I thought, okay, it’s a paranormal romantic suspense.  Well folks, it just isn’t as I have discovered.  I submitted the first chapter to DearAuthor.com for first page reviews.  They determined that THE STONE KILLER is  crime fiction.  There is romance in the story as well as a ghost, but romance is not the predominate theme. So I have reclassified the book to crime fiction, thriller. If you want to discover if you’re on the right road in writing your book, submit your unpublished first page to DearAuthor.com first page reviews for critique.  Google the site.  You will have to take the good reviews with the bad, but it is worth the experience.

Well, back to work on my “gruesome” story. Hey folks, life can sometimes be gruesome.  I hear it on the news all the time.  That’s where I got the idea for THE STONE KILLER.  BUT, life is filled with good things too which I really do focus on first.  Murder and mayhem is what I write and I hope I’m good at it.  But people who personally know me would tell you it is hard for me to even kill a bug.

So, until we talk again, take care of yourselves, show your love to others and keep writing.  Stay safe.

SUNSHINE, CHOCOLATE AND BABY SHOWERS

We are finally have a bright sunny day here in KY.  It is so good to see the sunshine.  It is still cold and we are supposed to get 1-3 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow.  COME ON SPRING!!

I spent most of Friday helping my daughter with a baby shower she was hosting on Saturday.  Of all things, she wanted me to make the chocolate bowls.  Now I have seen Martha Stewart do this and it really looked easy.  However, Martha never one time told me the darned things might explode.  So there I stand in the kitchen rolling a balloon around in melted chocolate.  Nothin’ to it, right?  Right.  Before I could blink an eye, I am holding the remains of a blue balloon and the kitchen is covered in melted chocolate.  Even my daughter’s mini laptop.  We cleaned up the kitchen and I went back to gluing flower petals onto styrofoam balls.  I am very good at that.

I was going to print the next part of THE STONE KILLER yesterday, but my printer is dry.  I swear, I spend most of my money on print cartridges.  So it is back to Staples today. I will let you know if the chocolate comes out of my sweater.  I use OXYCLEAN, so there should be no problem.  Billy Mays sure knew what he was talking about. You all be good to yourselves and work hard on your writing.  I’ll talk at ya later

THE WONDERS OF ANTIBIOTICS, COLORADO SNOW, BACK TO WORK,

I’M GOING TO LIVE!  I was beginning to wonder for a time, but my doctor prescribed me a Z-pack and it has already started working.  I’m feeling much better today, and I’m not coughing nearly as much.  I actually slept quite well last night.  Taking a Coricidin at bedtime helps with the coughing.

My only problem is that I don’t seem to want to eat.  I’ve never been a big eater, you’d never know it to look at me.  I’m not obese, but it won’t hurt me to lose some weight.  In fact my doctor told me to get off my butt and start walking on my treadmill. As soon as I’m well, that is.  I promised to do it and I won’t break that promises.

I have this thing about people who tell you they will do something, then don’t.  It drives me a tad crazy, and you all know I admit to being a bit nuts.  I can’t claim to have kept every single promise I have ever made, but I have tried.  Sometimes circumstances keep a person from keeping a promise.  That I can understand.  So, if I can’t do something, I will not make a promise to do it.  My best response is that I will try my best.  Okay, enough said.

I’m sure most of you have guessed that I love Colorado.  Today’s snow is an example why.  It was snowing when I got up and the ground was almost covered.  At that time, there was about an inch of snow on the top of my car.  It continued to snow and by the time the mailman drove past, there was about five inches.  I know because I had to shovel a path to the mailbox.   The snow was above my ankles and it was beautiful.   I enjoy it immensely.  It is supposed to drop to one degree tonight and warm up the rest of the week with more sunshine.  The snow will be gone probably by Tuesday when the temperature is going to be near or above forty-seven.  It can be crappy outside, but if you give if five or ten minutes, the sun will come out. It tried to come out today, but it was too cloudy and still snowing.

Well, it is back to murder and mayhem for me.  I need to get back on my writing schedule so I can have the first draft of THE STONE KILLER  finished, hopefully, by the end of the month.  I don’t think it will happen.  To finish in 27 days, I will have to write 1667 words a day every day.  You know that old saying, “the best laid plans of mice and men”, well something will get in the way of my writing.  I will do my very best, but no promises.

Well it is 6:17 here in Colorado and I need to review the chapter I was working on before this cold, so I will say goodnight for now.

Everyone, take care of yourselves and stay safe until we talk again.

COLORADO, SUNSHINE, SNOW COMING, DOCTOR, COLD HANGING ON, FUZZY BRAIN, TIRED OF BEING SICK

I just returned from the doctor’s office.  I am on another round of antibiotics and this crap has gone into my chest.  I am waiting for the pharmacy to call so I can go pick up my drugs.  Having worked in a hospital for numerous years, I am the world’s worse patient.  I do not do being sick very well.  I give any illness two days and I want it gone.  That is not the case with this garbage.  The news last night reported that 30 people have been hospitalized with this junk.  It seems to be attacking a lot of people here in Colorado.  So I can’t say for sure how I managed to get this junk.  My nephew is off the hook.

My cats were out of wet food, and refused to eat the type my kind landlord and his wife brought me.  I dragged my exhausted body to WalMart.  In the pharmacy section, the shelves were almost bare of cold medicine.  I lucked out and did find a large bottle of Robitussin, but no Vicks VapoRub.  It may be an old remedy, but it works.  I bought food so I can prepare meals to be frozen and heated later, that is when I get the energy.  I also bought lots and lots and lots of Puffs.  At bedtime, I popped a Coricidin  and slept until 5:00 a.m. when a coughing fit jarred me awake. I then curled up in my recliner and slept until almost 9:00.  Bandit peeked over the arm of the chair and meowed to let me know it was time to get up and feed them.  Also my doctor’s appointment was at 11:00, so I had to get my butt in gear.   So the prognosis is that I am on the mend, thank God.

It is hard to believe that right this minute the outside temperature is 57 degrees.  Our high for tomorrow is 24 with 3 to 4 inches of snow.  That is Colorado for you.  Where I live, we need the snow.  It is too dry and that is dangerous for grass fires.  If we don’t get enough moisture this winter, I hate to think of the fire danger this coming summer.

Well, my recliner is calling and I really need a nap.  I’m going to “recline” until the pharmacy calls.

Everyone, take care of yourselves and stay safe.

Until we talk again.
